Since moving to their gorgeous property in Nannup, Simon and Sarah Green have spent the last five years establishing Southern Forests Honey, where they produce the finest raw, creamed and infused honey. They have certainly kept busy on their 20 acre property, building apiaries, planting a Lemon Myrtle grove and a commercial crop of Blueberries, breeding their bees (and children!), maintaining healthy hives and exploring the South West region to locate seasonal blossoms for their busy bees. After travelling around the country and discovering the property that they would soon call home, Simon and Sarah knew that they wanted to commit to primarily producing a high quality food product rich with health benefits. They both love the farming lifestyle, being outdoors, seeing the journey of their product from paddock to plate and as Sarah says enjoying their bees and “the wonder and science of what these little critters can produce, networking with others”. At nearly 80 years young, Senior Green still assists Simon and Sarah out in the paddock and they hope their children will soon be ready to be more involved.
